District Chief Executive, Sekyere East District Assembly

Hon. Ibrahim Adams is a dedicated public servant, grassroots development advocate and experienced local governance practitioner who currently serves as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Sekyere East District Assembly. He is widely respected for his humility, hard work and passion for improving infrastructure, education and livelihoods within the district.

Hon. Ibrahim Adams was born on 5th July, 1984 at Effiduase in the Sekyere East District of the Ashanti Region. He began his primary education at Effiduase Perseverance Basic School and later attended Effiduase Roman Catholic Junior High School, where he completed his Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in 1998.

He continued his secondary education at Ejisu Senior High Technical School, where he studied Building Construction and completed in 2003. With a strong interest in engineering and infrastructure development, he proceeded to Kumasi Technical University (KsTU), where he obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Building Construction between 2005 and 2007. He later upgraded his academic qualifications at the same institution, earning a Bachelor of Science in Technology (Bsc. Civil Engineering) in 2017.

Hon. Adams undertook his mandatory National Service in 2007 at the Works Department of the Sekyere East District Assembly, where he gained hands-on experience in project supervision, infrastructure planning and local government administration. From 2008 to 2009, he served as an intern at the Ejisu Municipal Assembly, further building his expertise in municipal development and engineering works.

In 2010, he was appointed District Programme Officer of the Non-Formal Education Division under the Complementary Education Agency in the Sekyere East District. In this role, he coordinated literacy programmes, supervised facilitators, supported out-of-school youth and adults with basic education and vocational skills and collaborated with community leaders to promote inclusive education.

Hon. Ibrahim Adams has a rich background in grassroots leadership. He was elected Assembly Member for the Effiduase North Electoral Area from 2014 to 2018. During this period, he also served as Convener for the Works Sub-Committee of the Sekyere East District Assembly from 2014 to 2016, contributing to infrastructure development, project monitoring and improved service delivery across the district.

His leadership abilities further earned him the trust of his party, the National Democratic Congress, where he served as Constituency Chairman for the Effiduase/Asokore Constituency from 2018 to 2022. In recognition of his effective leadership, organizational skills and commitment to party unity, he was re-elected in 2022 and continues to serve as the Constituency Chairman to date.

As District Chief Executive, Hon. Ibrahim Adams is committed to transforming the Sekyere East District into a model of sustainable and inclusive development. His priorities include, improving road infrastructure to support farming communities and local businesses, expanding access to quality education, healthcare and potable water, strengthening local governance and community participation in decision-making, promoting youth employment, skills training and entrepreneurship and determined to work tirelessly to achieve the Government’s vision of economic growth, poverty reduction and improved living standards for all residents of the district.

Hon. Ibrahim Adams is known to be hardworking, humble, approachable, disciplined, visionary and results-oriented. He believes strongly in teamwork, honesty and service to humanity. Due to his dedication to duty and his visible impact on development projects and community initiatives, he has earned the affectionate accolade “Adwumawura” (meaning Master Worker) among the people of Sekyere East.

Hon. Adams is a devoted family man and a practicing Muslim who upholds strong moral values of integrity, compassion and service. He enjoys mentoring young people, community volunteerism and contributing to initiatives that improve livelihoods.

Hon. Ibrahim Adams’ life journey from a young student in Effiduase to District Chief Executive reflects resilience, discipline and a deep passion for public service. With his technical background, governance experience and people-centered leadership style, he continues to champion development initiatives that improve the lives of the people of Sekyere East District.
