SEKYERE EAST: DCE CUT SOD FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 24-HOUR ECONOMY MODEL MARKET PROJECT

The Sekyere East District Assembly led by the District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon Ibrahim Adams has cut sod for construction of the Government’s 24-Hour Economy Model Market Project for Sekyere East.

The Sod-Cutting Ceremony was well organised and participated by the Effiduase /Asokore Traditional Council of Chiefs and Queen Mothers in the Traditional Area, the Clergy, Imams, Hon Assembly Members, Party functionaries, Market Traders, Heads of Departments and Staff of the Assembly, Security Agencies, and other Stakeholders.

Addressing the Chiefs and people of Sekyere East at the durbar, the District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon Ibrahim Adams explained the components of the Project comprising Locable Market Stores, Market Stalls, Access, Roads, Day Care/Creche (School), Information Centre, GNFS Post, Police Post, Restaurant/Eatery, Women Development Bank, Health Post/Clinic, Car Parking Lodge, Lorry Station, Warehouse, Security Fence.

The DCE rallied support for the NDC Government for the initiative and support for the contractor who had promised to complete the project ahead of the 18-months duration.

The Consultant ECO Planners and Engineering Consult Ltd Ing. Daniel Yeboah presented the 24-Hour Model Market Project design to the Assembly where the DCE further handed over the design to the Contractor JAGURE SENIOR LTD for execution. The DCE emphasized local economic development, job creation, business expansion opportunities, revenue generation, underscoring the significance of the project for socio-economic development.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) indicated that the project demonstrated the NDC Government’s commitment and true passion for the development of Sekyere East District.

The District Coordinating Director Mrs Agatha Ahia called on all stakeholders to support the government and cooperate with the Assembly for successful completion of the project.

The Chief Linguist, Nana Owusu Asare and Nana Asantewaa Adutwumwaa, Effiduase Santansi Queen who led a delegation of Chiefs and Queen Mothers from the Sekyere East Traditional Council representing the Paramount Chief, Nana Dr. Susubiribi Krobea Asante of Asokore Traditional Council and the Paramount Queen Mother Nana Kunadu Yiadom of Effiduase Sub-Tradition Council, pledged their support for the Project.

The groundbreaking ceremony marked the official handing over of the site to the consultant and contractor to start work. ECO Planners and Engineering Consult Ltd Ing. Daniel Yeboah and Contractor JAGURE SENIOR LTD and their teams to start the infrastructural project sited at the Effiduase Cocoa-bod Office Premise.
